High school football season opens with regional victories

High school football season openers saw significant victories across Oklahoma and Arkansas. In Oklahoma, Edmond Memorial defeated Piedmont 42-15, aided by an early touchdown following a muffed kickoff. Bishop McGuinness secured a dominant 66-19 win over Putnam City North, maintaining control throughout the matchup. Additionally, Norman North defeated its crosstown rival Norman with a 45-18 score.

In Arkansas, the “Battle of Rogers Avenue” rivalry continued between Fort Smith Northside and Fort Smith Southside. In the opening quarter of the game, Northside took an early 7-0 lead following a touchdown run by quarterback Ja Posey.
