High school football updates in Washington state

The Todd Beamer football team recently honored its six seniors at Federal Way Memorial Field during a game against Kentlake. This ceremony follows a tumultuous season that included the cancellation of the varsity schedule on October 1 due to player ineligibility and safety concerns regarding injuries. Despite the setback, the team was able to play out the remainder of the season through games organized by the coaching staff and administration.

In KingCo 3A football, Liberty, Inglemoor, and Mercer Island are set to participate in a Kansas tiebreaker to determine the final playoff spots in the KingCo Crest division. All three teams hold 5-1 league records. The tiebreaker format involves modified 12-minute quarters. Mercer Island will host Liberty in the initial game, with the winner advancing to face Bellevue in the Week 9 championship, while the loser of the first game will face Inglemoor in a decisive elimination match.
