High-voltage power pole obstructs main road in Ordu
A high-voltage electricity pole belonging to the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) remains positioned in the middle of a street in the Karşıyaka neighborhood of Ordu's Altınordu district. Installed approximately 50 years ago before the road was constructed, the pole carries 170,000 volts of electricity to the Giresun region.
Local residents and officials report that the structure divides the main thoroughfare, creating significant traffic risks. The pole complicates the passage of large vehicles and has been linked to frequent accidents, particularly involving motorcycles and delivery couriers. Neighborhood Muhtar Nail Şafak Çelebi has called for the lines to be moved underground to ensure public safety and improve traffic flow.
