Higher Education Commission warns of fake degree attestation agents
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has issued a public advisory warning students and graduates against fraudulent individuals posing as authorized degree attestation agents. Scammers are reportedly using phone calls and fake social media pages to impersonate HEC officials, attempting to solicit money and sensitive personal or educational information.
The HEC clarified that its degree attestation process is entirely online and paperless, meaning the commission does not employ agents or representatives to handle these services. Applicants are urged to manage their own applications through the official system and avoid sharing academic records with unauthorized third parties. The commission emphasized that it does not make unsolicited calls regarding attestation services.
