UFV Cascades men's soccer reaches national top-10 ranking

The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) men’s soccer program has achieved a national top-10 ranking for the first time in its history. According to the weekly U Sports rankings released on October 5, the Cascades rose to the number 10 spot in Canada, climbing from 14th the previous week.

The team’s ascent follows a seven-game unbeaten streak and a 6-3-3 record in Canada West regular season play. Recent performances contributing to the ranking include a scoreless draw against the Calgary Dinos and a 2-1 victory over the Alberta Golden Bears at Abbotsford’s Rotary Stadium.

Key contributors for the Cascades include forwards Mateo Brazinha and Michael Beecroft, who have each scored four goals, and goalkeeper Matheus De Souza, who has recorded four shutouts and 46 saves in 12 games.
