Highlands football secures two dominant nonconference victories

The Highlands football team secured two significant victories in recent nonconference matchups. In a 45-6 running-clock win against Cooper, sophomore quarterback Bryce Armstrong led the offense with 161 passing yards and two touchdowns, while adding 102 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground. The Bluebird defense limited Cooper to 136 total yards, and Tayden Lorenzen contributed a notable defensive touchdown on an interception return.

In a separate matchup, Highlands overcame an early 14-0 deficit to defeat Greensburg Salem 52-21. Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg rushed for 240 yards and two touchdowns, while Logan Thies accounted for two passing touchdowns and two rushing scores. Despite a school-record 36th passing touchdown by Greensburg Salem’s Brody Chismar and a 99-yard kickoff return by Stephen Monoghan Jr., Highlands maintained control to secure the win.
