Highway 15 improvements between Kotka and Kouvola to begin

Construction work on Highway 15 between Kotka (Rantahaaka) and Kouvola is scheduled to begin in late August. The project follows a period of preparatory work, including forest clearing and site preparation.

Initial phases include the construction of a pedestrian and cycling path on Tavastilantie, a new bypass between Rantahaaka and Ylänummi, and earthworks for a new parallel road and highway alignment between Uronlammi and Inkeroinen.

While early works are expected to have minimal impact on traffic, motorists should prepare for temporary speed limit reductions. In areas where construction is active, speed limits will be lowered from 100 km/h to 80 km/h, with local reductions to 50 km/h near high-traffic construction junctions.
