HII awarded $2.2 billion contract for U.S. Southern Command intelligence

HII’s Mission Technologies division has been awarded a $2.2 billion GSA ASTRO IDIQ task order to provide the STRINGRAI suite for the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM). The program, which stands for Surveillance, Tracking, Intelligence, Network Services, Global Reconnaissance, Analysis, and Interceptions, is designed to enhance the ability to detect, monitor, and disrupt illicit activity.

The contract will support SOUTHCOM and partner nations across Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The multi-year agreement includes one base year and six option years. HII will lead an integrated team to deliver advanced technologies and all-domain platforms to improve operational readiness and decision-making in the region.
