Hikari Ishida, Kasumi Arimura promote film ‘Satoko wa Itsumo’

Actors Hikari Ishida, Kasumi Arimura, and Kashun Himeno attended a promotional event in Tokyo for the upcoming film ‘Satoko wa Itsumo’, directed by Shuichi Okita. The film, scheduled for release on September 18, follows the intersecting lives of three women named Satoko at different stages of life: a 15-year-old middle school student, a 35-year-old woman working in film distribution, and a 55-year-old woman rediscovering her passion for writing.

During the event, Hikari Ishida discussed her commitment to realism in her role as the 55-year-old character, specifically regarding scenes involving making lunch boxes. Ishida noted that she drew on her own 16-year experience of preparing meals for her daughters to ensure the character's movements and habits felt authentic.

Kashun Himeno, 16, made her film debut and lead role through this production, having been selected from 300 auditionees. Arimura praised Himeno’s talent, describing her as a hidden gem that the public will soon discover.
