Hikaru Iwamoto stars in Japanese premiere of ‘Time Traveler’s Wife’ musical

The musical ‘Time Traveler’s Wife’, based on the bestselling novel by Audrey Niffenegger, has premiered in Japan at the EX Theater Ariake. The production features Hikaru Iwamoto of the group Snow Man in the lead role of Henry, a man who travels through time involuntarily, alongside Sora Wagaki as Claire.

During a press event, Iwamoto discussed his readiness for the complex role, noting that he feels a sense of familiarity with the concept of moving between different spaces. He also teased a performance involving a ‘cloning technique’ during his solo song, ‘Journeyman’.

The production is directed and scripted by Wally Kinosita. The musical will run at EX Theater Ariake until September 24, followed by performances at the Orix Theater in Osaka from October 2 to October 8.
