Hikaru Ueda's life story adapted into new manga

A new full-color web manga titled ‘Kamibukuro Chugakusei: A Story of a Girl Who Hid Her Face and Became a Voice Actor’ began distribution on the Comic Seymour electronic book service on September 6, 2026.

Published under the SEED COMICS label, the manga is based on the real-life experiences of voice actress Hikaru Ueda, specifically her account of attending middle school while wearing a paper bag over her head. The story follows the character ‘Hikaru-n’ as she navigates social struggles and personal growth. The series features original story concepts by Hikaru Ueda, a scenario by Kotaro Ishidate, and artwork by sugar.
