Hiker Removes Decades-Old Stickers from Bivacco Ferrario in Grignetta

A hiker spent six hours cleaning adhesive stickers from the entrance of Bivacco Ferrario, a mountain hut in the Grignetta area of the Southern Grigna range, Italy. The volunteer documented the effort on social media, noting that he had previously placed a sticker himself and now recognized the cumulative damage caused by many hikers. He removed dozens of stickers, including some bearing the insignia of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI).

The activity coincided with a planned, coordinated removal operation announced by the CAI Lecco section, which had asked individual volunteers to pause spontaneous clean‑ups until the organized effort could begin. The hiker’s work supports the CAI’s aim to restore the hut’s appearance and promote respect for the mountain environment.
