Hikers rescued after getting lost near Sasso di Pale

Two hikers were successfully rescued after losing their way near Sasso di Pale in Foligno. The individuals became disoriented during a trek and were forced to wander through the woods in darkness after failing to find the correct path back to the valley.

Emergency operations were launched around 5:00 PM, involving the Umbria Alpine and Speleological Rescue teams. The rescue was complicated by the late hour, lack of light, and the rugged terrain near the Sentiero del Macaco, which features rocky walls. After three hours of work, volunteers located and brought the hikers down by 8:00 PM. Both individuals were in good condition and did not require medical intervention.
