Salzburg region promotes hiking and cycling tourism

The Salzburg region offers diverse outdoor activities for the autumn and summer seasons, ranging from hiking to cycling.

For hikers, the area around Salzburg city provides various options, such as the Mönchsberg, which offers views of the Altstadt and Hohensalzburg Fortress, and the Gaisberg. These routes cater to both casual afternoon walkers and more demanding day hikers.

Cycling enthusiasts can utilize the extensive network in the Salzburger Land, particularly around Eugendorf. The region features over 600 kilometers of marked paths in the Lake District, suitable for mountain biking, gravel biking, and e-bikes. New routes have recently been added, including a 60-kilometer path leading to the Salzburg Open-Air Museum.
