Hiking routes in Gipuzkoa and Navarre provinces

Various hiking routes are available across the border of the Guipúzcoa and Navarre provinces in Spain. One difficult 11.4-mile route begins at the banks of the Bidassoa in Endarlatsa, near the France-Spain border marker. This path traverses the Aiako Harria Nature Park, featuring steep terrain, 19th-century Carlist War defensive ruins, and the Erlaitz summit.

In the Goierri region, the PR-Gi 1 circular trail offers a shorter, 7-kilometer excursion starting near Arama. This route passes through the Aralar Natural Park, featuring traditional farmhouses and views of Mount Txindoki, before concluding at the Altzagarate viewpoint. Nearby locations of interest include the medieval town of Ordizia and the historical sites in Beasain.
