Hikvision expands technological presence in Ecuador

Hikvision has expanded its technological footprint in Ecuador through professional recognition and retail infrastructure upgrades. The company recently held an edition of its HikTech Star global video contest, which aimed to showcase how technology professionals use AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) and video security to solve real-world problems. Six Ecuadorian professionals were recognized, including regional winners Edwin Bastidas, Wilmer Farez, and Henry Ávila, alongside local winners Christian Quinteros, Lenin Chaspuengal, and Diego Becerra.

In the retail sector, Hikvision implemented an integrated technological solution for MegaKywi Machala. The project utilized the HikCentral platform to unify audio, video, and data, enabling more efficient operations. Key features of the upgrade include AI-powered security cameras, an IP Audio system for internal communication, and the integration of Android-based PDA terminals to allow staff to manage inventory and pricing in real time. This implementation aims to improve operational agility and provide better data management for the retail establishment.
