Hilê Indústria de Alimentos reports winter boost in Brazil tea consumption

Brazil's colder season has driven a sharp rise in tea sales, prompting Hilê Indústria de Alimentos to expand production planning for its partner‑brand tea lines. Euromonitor International data show national tea consumption grew 25% between 2013 and 2020, nearly double the global average, and the sector advanced more than 40% from 2019 to 2023, generating roughly R$1.5 billion in the most recent year.

Retailers have noted the seasonal surge, while newer consumer habits link tea to comfort, pause, and self‑care rather than merely warming the body. Hilê says this deeper perception broadens product value and opens space for categories previously seen as niche within the natural‑beverage market.
