Hilaria Baldwin opens up on marriage choices and past eating disorders

Hilaria Baldwin told Page Six Radio that she repeatedly turned down early gifts from her husband, actor Alec Baldwin, because she did not want to feel like a “prisoner” to his fame. She said, “It hurt because I’m not that way,” and added, “I don’t want you to buy me something, because I want to know that I like you for you, because I don’t want to be a prisoner either.” Baldwin also clarified that she never married Alec for his money and that the couple share seven children.

In a separate interview, Baldwin revealed that she struggled with eating‑disorder issues for almost two decades, beginning to diet at age five. She described experiences of anorexia, bulimia, binge‑eating episodes, extreme calorie‑counting, and periods of severe restriction. She sought professional help before becoming a mother and now focuses on teaching her children a healthy relationship with food.
