Hilary Duff releases “CATastrophe” for The Cat in the Hat film

Hilary Duff has released “CATastrophe,” an original song created for the upcoming animated film “The Cat in the Hat.” The track serves as a central emotional theme for the movie, which is the first animated feature from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation based on the Dr. Seuss character.

Duff co-wrote the song alongside Matthew Koma, Madison Love, and Brian Phillips, with production by Koma and Phillips. The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Dano Cerny, featuring surreal, oversized environments inspired by the visual style of Dr. Seuss. Duff noted that the song explores the feeling of one's world changing unexpectedly, while maintaining an energetic tone.

“CATastrophe” is part of “The Cat in the Hat (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack),” scheduled for release on October 30 via WaterTower Music. The soundtrack will also feature original music by Lorne Balfe and a theme song by Tim Minchin, performed by FITZ and Minchin with Bill Hader. The film is set to arrive in theaters and IMAX on November 6.
