Hilary Duff releases “CATastrophe” for ‘The Cat in the Hat’ soundtrack

Hilary Duff has released “CATastrophe,” an original pop song written for the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures Animation film, ‘The Cat in the Hat.’ Co-written with Matthew Koma, Madison Love, and Brian Phillips, the track explores themes of upheaval and uncertainty through a playful pop lens.

The official music video, directed by Dano Cerny, features Duff in whimsical, oversized environments inspired by the Dr. Seuss aesthetic. In the video, Duff wears a Coperni Floral-Appliqué Asymmetric Gown, a sculptural, wet-look dress designed to complement the surreal visual landscape.

“CATastrophe” will be featured on ‘The Cat in the Hat (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack),’ which is scheduled for release on October 30 via WaterTower Music. The soundtrack will also include a score by Lorne Balfe and a theme song by Tim Minchin, performed by Fitz and Minchin featuring Bill Hader. The film is set to arrive in theaters and IMAX in November.
