Hilary Swank addresses criticism regarding late-age pregnancy

Actress Hilary Swank has responded to public criticism regarding her decision to have a third child at age 52. During an interview with Drew Barrymore, Swank highlighted a perceived double standard, noting that women who become mothers later in life often face social judgment that men do not experience when becoming fathers at an advanced age.

Swank shared a personal encounter with a woman who questioned her decision due to fears regarding the actress's longevity as a parent. Swank expressed empathy for the woman's perspective but maintained that the opportunity to experience the bond of parenthood outweighs the risks.

Swank and her husband, Philip Schneider, are expecting the new arrival in December. The couple previously welcomed twins, Ayo and Ohma, in April 2023. Swank previously noted that she utilized egg freezing, which she had done in her late thirties, to facilitate her journey into motherhood.
