Hilda Baci takes legal action against Seyi Vibez for defamation

Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has initiated legal action against Afrobeats singer Seyi Vibez following defamatory social media posts. The dispute arose after the singer made comments on X regarding Baci, alleging that her cosmetic procedures were funded by a former record label boss's catalogue money. He also made disparaging remarks about her cooking.

On August 15, the Lagos-based law firm Olaniwun Ajayi LP issued a formal demand letter to the artist on behalf of Baci. The legal team accused the singer of libel, malicious content, and potential violations of Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act. The firm demanded that Seyi Vibez immediately remove the posts, issue a public apology, and publish a retraction across all social media platforms.

Following the legal intervention, the singer removed the controversial posts from his accounts. Baci’s representatives have given the artist a deadline to provide a written undertaking to comply with these demands, warning that failure to do so will result in further legal enforcement action.
