Hildon Chaves critiques opponents in Rondônia gubernatorial debate
Hildon Chaves, the candidate for the Governor of Rondônia representing the Federação União Progressistas, participated in the first televised debate held in Porto Velho by Rondovisão TV, an affiliate of Band.
During the seven-block debate, Chaves criticized his opponents for offering what he termed ‘magical solutions’ to complex issues. He specifically addressed the toll road controversy, stating that promises to eliminate tolls without a realistic plan show a lack of respect for the population and ‘moral weakness.’
Regarding healthcare, Chaves rejected the outsourcing of services, arguing instead for improved management and the strengthening of municipal networks. He cited his previous experience as a public prosecutor in public health matters as evidence of his ability to address the sector's challenges.
