Hill Group secures £1.5bn housing partnership with Lewisham Council

Lewisham Council has entered into a 10-year strategic partnership with Hill Group for a housing and regeneration programme valued at up to £1.5bn. The agreement, which follows a year-long procurement process, allows the council to work with a single developer across multiple schemes rather than appointing new contractors for every individual project.

The partnership includes an option for a five-year extension. Under the arrangement, the council will either develop and own affordable homes directly or allow Hill Group to invest in developments, with the council holding the first option to purchase the affordable units. The council maintains control over site selection, project timing, and delivery methods.

Initial projects under the partnership are already underway. These include Thomas’ Lane Yard in Catford, which will provide 113 affordable homes (39 for social rent and 74 for shared ownership), and the Achilles Street Estate regeneration in New Cross, which is planned to deliver 278 homes, including 122 for social rent.
