Hillary Clinton criticizes Donald Trump over Middle East conflict transparency
Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has criticized President Donald Trump, labeling him an ‘Olympic champion in lying.’ During an appearance on MSNBC, Clinton stated that the President lies about everything, including matters concerning public health and military operations in the Middle East.
Clinton’s remarks follow reports regarding the transparency of the administration’s handling of conflict with Iran. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick recently acknowledged the deaths of 18 American service members and injuries to over 750 others, contradicting previous denials of American casualties in the conflict. Additionally, reports indicate that military leaders have warned Secretary of War Pete Hegseth that the ongoing conflict with Iran may be unsustainable and could diminish U.S. military readiness in other global regions.
Public opinion regarding the conflict appears to be shifting, with recent polls showing a decline in Trump’s popularity from 40% to 33%. Currently, 63% of Americans oppose the continuation of the conflict, while 31% support it.
