Hilária Mireski's Viral Appeal Raises Over R$570,000 in Brazil

Hilária Mireski, a 60‑year‑old retiree from Itaiópolis in northern Santa Catarina, has lived with the rare Gorlin‑Goltz syndrome, which has led to 73 skin cancers, 93 biopsies, loss of an eye and part of her nose. After sharing her story on camera with influencer Willian Braz, known as "Willian da Bondade," the video attracted more than 649,000 likes and nearly 40,000 comments.

A crowdfunding campaign launched by the influencer aimed for R$100,000 but quickly surpassed expectations, raising over R$570,000 from more than 11,800 donors in just 11 days. The funds are intended to cover Hilária’s ongoing medical expenses, which can exceed R$3,000 per month.
