Hilton Honors slashes franchise fees and launches discounted points sale

Hilton Worldwide announced a reduction in the fees that franchise owners contribute to the Hilton Honors loyalty program, cutting rates by up to 32% for some brands such as Homewood Suites. The company also lowered base points earnings from 10 to 5 points per dollar on bookings starting January 8, a 50% decrease. In parallel, Hilton introduced the RISE program, which grants a 50‑basis‑point fee reduction to U.S. and Canadian hotels that meet guest‑satisfaction metrics, and plans a second‑phase RISE 2 to identify further cost‑saving opportunities across property operations.

Separately, Hilton is offering a limited‑time purchase of Hilton Honors points at 0.53 cents per point with a 90% bonus for purchases of 3,000 points or more. The sale excludes the points from elite‑status qualification, caps annual purchases at 160,000 points, and applies GST/HST for Canadian buyers. The promotion is aimed at members who can exploit the 5th‑night‑free benefit and other redemption options.
