Hilton to enter Zimbabwe with new hotel in Harare
Hilton has announced its first entry into the Zimbabwean market through a partnership with Terrace Africa to develop a Hilton Garden Inn in Harare. The project, announced at the ZimReal property investment forum, will be located in the Highlands district as part of the Highlands Precinct, a mixed-use development featuring offices, retail, and residential spaces.
The planned 140-room hotel is scheduled to open in early 2029. It will include amenities such as an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby café and bar, a gym, a swimming pool, and meeting facilities.
Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Chief Development Officer for the Middle East and Africa, stated that the move reflects confidence in Zimbabwe’s long-term hospitality potential, noting the country's role as a regional gateway and its recent growth in international arrivals, which exceeded 1.7 million in 2025.
