Himachal Pradesh: BJP-supported candidates win 11 Zila Parishad seats

In Himachal Pradesh, BJP-supported candidates have secured leadership positions in 11 out of 12 Zila Parishads. Following the election process, Thinle Dicheen was elected as the Chairperson of the Lahaul-Spiti Zila Parishad.

BJP State President Rajiv Bindal stated that these results serve as a clear political message from the public regarding the performance of the Congress-led state government. He noted that BJP-supported leadership emerged in several districts, including Shimla and Kangra, as well as in the home districts of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.

Bindal accused the Congress government of attempting to use political and administrative influence to establish leadership within the Zila Parishads, particularly in Lahaul-Spiti, but maintained that the election outcomes reflect the will of the voters at the local level.
