Himachal Pradesh CM launches development projects in Mandi
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 21 development projects in the Mandi district, valued at Rs 136.25 crore. These projects encompass road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and public facilities, including an Ayurvedic Health Centre, a veterinary dispensary, and various school and government buildings.
During a public meeting in the Balh constituency, Sukhu also addressed the state's economic situation, criticizing the previous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration. He alleged that the former government pushed Himachal Pradesh into a debt trap through the misuse of resources, specifically citing the handling of GST compensation and Revenue Deficit Grants.
Sukhu noted that following his government's decision to restore the Old Pension Scheme, the Central Government withheld approximately Rs 1,600 crore in financial assistance. He emphasized his administration's commitment to making the state self-reliant and rebuilding infrastructure damaged by natural disasters.
