Himachal Pradesh government clarifies HPTDC leasing plans

The Himachal Pradesh government has clarified in the state Legislative Assembly that there are no plans to outsource or lease profitable units of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) to private firms.

However, eight HPTDC properties have been approved to be operated and maintained under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This Operation and Maintenance (O&M) approach aims to improve operations and increase revenue generation. The Himachal Pradesh Infrastructure Development Board (HPIDB) has been tasked with executing the leasing process.

The eight properties approved for the O&M model include Hotel Lake View in Bilaspur, Hotel Mamleshwar in Chindi, Hotel Apple Blossom in Fagu, Hotel Chanshal in Rohru, Hotel Sarvari in Kullu, Hotel Old Rose Common in Kasauli, Hotel Shivalik in Parwanoo, and Hotel Giriganga in Kharapathar. These properties generated approximately Rs 676.24 lakh in revenue during the 2025-26 financial year.
