Himachal Pradesh Governor forms inter-university Viksit Bharat task force

Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta has established the Chancellor’s Inter-University Viksit Bharat Task Force to unify state universities under a shared platform. The initiative aims to coordinate efforts toward the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision, focusing on knowledge, innovation, skill development, and social harmony.

During a meeting with vice-chancellors in Shimla, Gupta directed all universities to submit a 100-day roadmap within the next 10 days. This roadmap must prioritize innovation, research, and the sharing of best practices across institutions. Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla has been designated as the coordinating university for the task force, which will hold quarterly meetings on a rotational basis.

The Governor also emphasized the need for agricultural and horticultural universities to link research with rural livelihoods by developing quality nurseries and providing improved seeds and medicinal plants to farmers. Additionally, he encouraged universities to collaborate with institutions in neighboring states and increase student exposure through educational tours and expert interactions.
