Himachal Pradesh Opposition Leader Jai Ram Thakur Accuses Congress Government of Political Vendetta
Jai Ram Thakur, the Leader of Opposition and former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, said the Congress‑led state administration under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has replaced governance with a campaign of political vendetta. He alleged that state machinery is being used to file FIRs and launch investigations against BJP leaders—including state party president Rajeev Bindal and legislators Sudhir Sharma, Hoshiar Singh and Ashish Sharma—as well as local elected officials who won recent panchayat and municipal elections.
Thakur claimed the government is focusing on shutting down public institutions, halting development projects and intimidating opponents instead of addressing law‑and‑order or social issues. He announced that the BJP is compiling a “comprehensive charge sheet” documenting alleged corruption, financial mismanagement and abuse of power by the Congress government, which will be presented to the public in a statewide campaign.
