Himachal Pradesh Vigilance Bureau Files FIR Against BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma Over Disproportionate Assets

The Himachal Pradesh State Vigilance & Anti‑Corruption Bureau has registered a First Information Report against Dharamshala MLA and BJP leader Sudhir Sharma, accusing him of holding assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The case is being pursued under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended).

A preliminary enquiry reviewed income‑tax returns, election affidavits, property documents, house‑building advance records and valuation reports. The bureau concluded there is prima facie evidence of a mismatch between Sharma's declared income, assets and expenditures. It flagged several financial transactions – including land sales, investments, banking activity, vehicle purchases and residential construction costs – for further verification. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities indicating further action will follow the collection and analysis of additional evidence.
