HIMKI re-elects Abdul Sobur and launches new industry roadmap

The Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) has re-elected Abdul Sobur as its chairman during its 4th National Congress held in Bali. The assembly also saw the launch of the Grand Strategy Plan (GSP), a comprehensive roadmap designed to bolster the competitiveness of Indonesia's furniture and craft sectors.

Developed in collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Ministries of Trade, Industry, and Creative Economy, as well as the Bali Provincial Government, the GSP aims to transform the industry into a significant economic driver. Key objectives include strengthening the domestic market, increasing exports, fostering design innovation, developing human resources, and ensuring sustainable access to raw materials.

The strategy seeks to move Indonesia beyond being a mere supplier of raw materials or manufactured goods, positioning the nation instead as a global hub for high-value design, production, and trade. Additionally, the congress ratified amendments to the organization's statutes and guidelines to improve governance and professional management.
