Himley Hall Sailing Club raises £108k for RNLI

Himley Hall Sailing Club has raised more than £108,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) over 50 years of fundraising. Based outside Dudley, the club is one of the smallest Royal Yachting Society-affiliated clubs.

Since 1976, the club has supported the charity through an annual 24-hour race and various other events. To mark the 50th year of fundraising, the club held a six-hour race in June involving six boats and 20 sailors. This recent event raised an additional £753, bringing the total lifetime contribution to £108,736.

The club's long-standing relationship with the RNLI includes the 1985 naming of a lifeboat, ‘Himley Hall’, in recognition of the club's support.
