Hindu Parents Network campaigns for accurate Hinduism curriculum in US schools
The Hindu Parents Network (HPN) is launching a campaign to influence how Hinduism is taught in American classrooms. During the 2026 New Jersey Teachers Conference, the group hosted an interactive session for approximately 200 educators focused on providing accurate and culturally sensitive materials to address common misrepresentations of Hindu Dharma and history.
The HPN reported an overwhelmingly positive response from teachers and is now seeking funds to expand its efforts nationwide. The organization aims to develop classroom-ready resources, including handbooks, lesson plans, and quizzes, to complement existing textbooks. The group also intends to work directly with school districts to address curriculum bias and has already engaged with six school districts regarding these issues in 2026.
