Hindu religious rituals for Friday prosperity
According to Hindu religious beliefs, Friday is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, prosperity, and abundance. To alleviate financial difficulties and bring stability to wealth, several traditional remedies and rituals are recommended for this day.
Key practices include chanting the mantra ‘Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah’ 108 times using a lotus seed mala while facing north, and reciting the Kanakadhara Stotram. Other rituals involve offering cloves and camphor in a betel leaf during the evening, cleaning the main entrance with holy Ganges water, and lighting a ghee lamp to the right of the doorway.
Devotees may also place a silver coin wrapped in red cloth inside a clay pot filled with rice or wheat in the northwest direction. Recommended offerings for the Goddess include lotus or rose flowers, kheer, makhana, batasha, or white sweets, as well as red chunri and cosmetics. The most auspicious times for worship are during Brahma Muhurta (before sunrise) or during Pradosh Kaal (after sunset).
