Hinduja family tops UK Sunday Times Rich List with £38 bn fortune
The Hinduja family retained the number‑one position in the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List, marking a fifth consecutive year at the top of the United Kingdom’s wealth ranking. Their estimated fortune rose to £38 billion, up from £35.3 billion the previous year, despite global economic uncertainty.
Leadership of the Hinduja Group has passed to brothers Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja following the death of patriarch Gopichand Hinduja. The conglomerate operates in 38 countries with interests spanning automotive, banking and finance, digital technology, energy, healthcare, media, real estate and more. The list also noted that the United Kingdom now has 157 billionaires, with new entrants such as Christopher Harborne and the Beckhams joining the ranks.
The Hinduja family’s continued dominance reflects the long‑term resilience of their diversified empire and the emergence of the next‑generation leaders at its helm.
