Hinge data shows musical taste influences romantic connections in Brazil
Data from the dating app Hinge indicates that musical preference plays a significant role in romantic connections in Brazil. According to the survey, 38% of Brazilians state that musical taste directly influences how they choose and connect with a partner.
This influence is consistent across generations, with 39% of Gen Z and 37% of Millennials identifying music as an important factor in relationships. Demographic breakdowns show that 41% of men and 47% of LGBTQ+ men believe music strongly influences their romantic decisions, compared to 34% of women.
Shared musical interests, such as favorite artists, concerts, and festivals, often serve as primary conversation starters and tools for identifying compatibility. The study suggests that musical similarity between partners can sometimes be more pronounced than similarities in personality or core values.
