Hino expands Australian presence with new 500 Series orders and Downer Group fleet addition

Hino Australia has opened orders for its 2027 medium-duty 500 Series. The range includes 11,000kg GVM FC and FD models as well as 14,000kg GVM FE models in both standard and crew cab configurations. These trucks feature the A05C 5.1-litre diesel engine, producing 240hp and 794Nm of torque, paired with an Allison six-speed True Automatic transmission.

Separately, the Downer Group has expanded its fleet by adding a Hino 700 Series FY 3248 8x4 Bergkamp feeder unit. This vehicle is utilized for road preservation and micro surfacing. The selection was driven by requirements for driver comfort, such as an air-suspended cab and lower entry points, as well as advanced safety features including Lane Departure Warning, Driver Monitor, and Autonomous Emergency Braking. The 700 Series unit is powered by an E13C engine delivering 480hp and 2157Nm of torque, paired with a ZF TraXon 16-speed automated manual transmission.
