Hip Hop Kemp festival cancelled due to low ticket sales
The Hip Hop Kemp festival was cancelled on the eve of its scheduled start, citing low ticket sales and poor weather conditions. Organizer Radek Maliník stated that only approximately 2,200 tickets were sold, whereas the event's economic model required an audience of 5,000 to 6,000 people. Heavy rain and storms also damaged the venue.
Controversy has arisen regarding ticket refunds. While initial communications suggested that attendees requesting refunds would be reimbursed, subsequent statements from the organizers claimed that all pre-sale proceeds had already been invested directly into the festival's preparations. Instead of cash refunds, organizers have announced that current tickets will remain valid for a future edition of the festival scheduled for 2027.
Some attendees and vendors have expressed significant disappointment and skepticism regarding the management of the funds and the suddenness of the cancellation.
