Hippindo projects up to 20% retail sales lift from Indonesia Shopping Festival 2026
Hippindo chairman Budihardjo Iduansjah said the discount programme of the Indonesia Shopping Festival (ISF) 2026 could raise sales of promoted products by 10‑20 percent, with overall retail transactions expected to grow around 10 percent. The festival, scheduled for August, will offer price cuts on selected fashion items, food‑service packages and other retail categories, and will promote 0 percent credit‑card instalments to spur spending during the traditional low‑season period.
The association also expects the sector to stay resilient through 2026, buoyed by strong domestic and international tourist flows to key destinations such as Bali, Jakarta and Bandung. Hippindo plans to coordinate further promotions, including the Indonesia Retail Summit & Expo and the “Belanja di Indonesia Aja” campaign, to maintain consumer traffic and support the supply chain amid weakened purchasing power, a depreciating rupiah and rising commodity prices.
