HiQ launches AI-driven defence suite as Sweden faces rising cyber threats

Swedish technology firm HiQ, with three decades of experience in critical‑software development for defence and security, has introduced a unified AI‑driven offering. The portfolio spans embedded systems, autonomous platforms, digital command and control, advanced simulation, data integration and secure software for safety‑critical environments. HiQ highlights its status as a NATO‑approved supplier and its participation in the Finnish Digital Defence Ecosystem, emphasizing the need for rapid, traceable software deployment to match evolving threat landscapes.

HiQ’s cybersecurity lead, Pernilla Rönn, warns that Sweden is lagging behind as cyber threats accelerate, especially with AI shortening attack cycles. She notes that many organisations struggle to keep up with the pace of AI‑enabled attacks, particularly in industrial control systems, and that a lack of basic protection in digital supply chains remains widespread. Rönn urges faster adoption of AI for defence, stronger cyber‑risk awareness at board level, and greater independence from foreign cloud and AI providers.
