Hirata Runa, 8-year-old J-pop idol trainee, dies from myocarditis

Hirata Runa, an eight-year-old J-pop idol trainee, has passed away following complications from influenza. The young performer was a member of the DIANNA Project, a talent agency based in Nagoya, Japan.

According to official statements from her agency, Runa died on September 25 due to myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle triggered by a viral infection. Her death occurred just five days after her final public performance on September 20, during which she expressed her joy to fans on social media.

Her family and the DIANNA Project requested privacy during this time, noting that funeral services were held privately. The news has caused significant mourning within the Japanese idol community and among her followers, who remembered her as a dedicated young artist.
