Hirect Limited Wins 60 Crore Order for India's Vande Metro Train Project

Hirect Limited, a long‑standing supplier of electrical and electronic systems for railways, announced it has been awarded its first major contract under India's Vande Metro (also known as Namo Bharat) program. The order is valued at roughly 60 crore Indian rupees and covers critical components such as traction and auxiliary transformers, IGBT drives, motor controllers, power‑conversion systems, and safety electronics.

The contract calls for delivery within 21 months and emphasizes local sourcing and indigenous manufacturing, aligning with the Indian government's Make in India push to modernise the rail network. This deal marks Hirect's entry as a supplier for the high‑speed Vande Metro train sets, which aim to replace aging rolling stock, boost urban mobility and improve passenger amenities across major Indian cities.
