Hiroe Mimura wins women's hammer throw at Aomori National Sports Festival

At the Aomori National Sports Festival, Hiroe Mimura from Fukui Prefecture won the women's adult hammer throw event. Competing at the Kakuhiru Group Athletic Stadium, Mimura achieved a best throw of 57.56 meters on her third attempt, surpassing the runner-up from Wakayama by 1.14 meters.

The competition faced a ninety-minute interruption due to rain. Mimura, a student at Ritsumeikan University, noted that she had been struggling with the pressure of high expectations leading up to the festival but was able to recover her focus for the win.

In other track and field results from the festival, Nana Ishihara from Hakuo Dai Ashikaga High School finished sixth in the junior women's 100m hurdles.
