Hiroshi Fujiwara announces second term of Fragment University

Hiroshi Fujiwara, head of Fragment Design, has announced the second term of his fictional academic program, ‘Fragment University’. The upcoming term will run from November 13, 2026, to May 14, 2027, consisting of nine lectures held once or twice a month.

Under the theme of ‘General Education (Non-General Education),’ the curriculum focuses on subjects driven by Fujiwara’s personal interests rather than traditional academic frameworks. The lecture series features a diverse roster of guest instructors, including director Ryohei Kamide, Asobisystem CEO Yusuke Nakagawa, DAIKEI MILLS representative Keisuke Nakamura, sociologist Noritoshi Furuichi, Bose from Schadaraparr, columnist Jane Su, and Human Made CEO Rei Matsunuma.

Prospective students must apply via a special website by September 28. Due to high demand, only 70 participants will be selected from the applicant pool, with a tuition fee of 220,000 yen. Ahead of the term, a free open campus event will be held on September 18 at the Ito Praemon Hall within the University of Tokyo’s Institute for Advanced Studies on Science (IASS). Admission to the open campus is on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 300 people, with registration opening at 18:00 on the day of the event.
