Hiroshima Carp select Takara Yamasato in NPB Draft

Hiroshima Toyo Carp manager Takahiro Arai expressed relief after the team successfully selected infielder Takara Yamasato as their sole first-round pick in the NPB draft. Arai noted that the team had prioritized strengthening the infield, specifically the middle infield positions.

Yamasato, a standout player from Asia University, is known for his high-level defensive skills, having recorded 26 consecutive errorless games as a second baseman last season. Despite his relatively small stature at 174 cm, he possesses significant power, having hit seven home runs over three seasons and contributing to his university's recent league championship. He also represented Samurai Japan in the World College Baseball Championship.
