Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce staff council holds annual meeting and AI/DX seminar

The Hiroshima Prefecture Chamber of Commerce and Industry Staff Council convened its 26th regular general meeting at the Hiroshima Convention Hall on 13 June. The meeting marked a shift to a fully staff‑participatory format, with 221 members attending in person and 29 by proxy, totaling 250 participants. Chairman Inoue Ken, who delivered the opening remarks, thanked Minister of State for Economic Policy Toshiyuki Ochi for his support and highlighted the growing importance of chamber staff in regional development. New chairperson Shimizu Shigeru was elected, and the council approved the previous year’s financial report and the upcoming fiscal plan.

Following the meeting, a Power‑Up seminar showcased three business support case studies and featured presentations on AI and digital transformation. Participants learned how the Osaka‑Kami‑Jima and Itsukichi chambers used interactive whiteboards and generative AI to streamline workflows, improve document handling, and enhance client interactions. The seminar emphasized the role of technology in increasing efficiency for local businesses.
